After playing four games away from home, River Light FC will start a three game homestand against Sueno FC at 7 p.m. later today at Spartan Athletic Park.
Currently the Lights and Sueno occupy the fourth and fifth spots of the Heartland Division with 15 and 9 points respectively. River Light (two games in-hand) is three points away from third place St.Charles FC and eight points from Peoria City who sit in second place.
Sueno FC recently sparred against Des Moines Menace, losing 5-0 to the division leaders. River Light suffered a similar fate falling to the Menace 4-1, despite Logan Finnegan’s penalty kick strike in the second half.
Last time the Lights met Sueno, they muscled through a 2-1 victory after conceding in the first half. Marek Gonda and Ryan Quintos were instrumental in securing that first win of the season, scoring in each half.
